news2022-12-30

The IJHL season is 28 games in to a 48 game season and the standings have The Sherwood A and S Scrap Metal Metros are leading the Leagie with 21 points, an 8 point lead over the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers.  However, the Vipers have 4 games in hand of the Metros.  The teams played each other twice, with each team getting a win, the Vipers took the season opener 6-4, and the Metros got some revenge last week with a 9-4 victory.  The new Kings County Rivermen have been steadily improving, but have a tall hill to climb to catch the Metros and Vipers, as they have a single point, an overtime 4-4 loss to Moncton on November 24th.

The majority of the games to this point have been interlocking with teams from New Brunswick.  There are 3 interlocking games left, Southeast (Cap Pele) will be visiting Kings County in Souris at the Eastern Kings Arena on January 7th, Kent koyotes will visit Kensington on Friday, January 13, and Richibucto visits Kings county at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre on January 21.

The next IJHL game will be on Friday, January 6th when the Metros vist the Vipers at 7:45 at the Credit Union Arena in Kensington.
