Vipers Claim First place - Award Winners announced

The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers claimed first place in the regular season last week, finishing 3 points ahead of second place Sherwood A & S Scrap Metal Metros.  The young  Kings County Rivermen finished with a single tie (Overtime loss).  The league Playoffs begin on Wednesday at Cody Banks Arena.  The format of the playoffs is a double round robin with the top two teams playing in a best of 7 series and the winner will represent PEI at the Don Johnson Cup in Liverpool, NS from April 26th - 30th.  The Kensington Vipers will start the playoffs with 4 points, the Sherwood A & S Scrap Metal Metros will start with 2 points and the Kings Co. Rivermen will start with 0 points, all based on their placement at the end of the regular season.  Once one team is mathematically eliminated, the best of 7 will commence.  The highest placing at the end of the regular season will have home ice advantage for the best of 7 finals.
