Game two of the round robin playoffs won by Vipers

Friday night in Kensington, the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers defeated the Kings County Rivermen 5-1.  League regular season Most Valuable Player, Reese Wyand opened the scoring for the Vipers 5:03 into the first period with assists going to Carson MacKay and Nick Reeves.  With 3:02 left in the opening frame, Rivermen leading scorere Avery Brown tied the game at 1 with helpers from Craig Steadman and Bradley Campbell.  The Vipers lead in the shots in the first period, 19-13.  Luke Payne and Carson MacKay added goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead into the second period break.  Helpers were added by Brett Ballum, Nick Reeves and Ethan Beaulieu.  Shots in the second period were 23-8 in favor of the Vipers.  The Vipers added 2 more goals in the third period from Cody MacCormack and Ryan Richards, with helpers from Nick Reeves, Carson MacKay, Joe MacEachern, and Ryder Howatt.

The standings for the Round Robin portion of the playoffs stand as follows:

Vipers - 6 points

Metros - 4 points

Rivermen - 0 points

The Rivermen host the Metros on Sunday, March 19, at Eastern Kings Arena in Souris at 7:00 in a must win game.  If the Metros win, the Rivermen will be eliminated  for further play, and the final series will commence next week.

The Provincial Junior B winner will represent PEI at the Don Johnson Cup from April 26-30 in Liverpool, NS.
