Tonight in Souris, the Sherwood Metros defeated the Kings County Rivermen 6-2, mathematically eliminating them from making the final best of 7 series. The Rivermen opened the scoring at 4:01 of the second period on a goal from League Most Sportsmanlike Player, Carter MacNeill. They would hold onto the lead for about 9 1/2 minutes before the Metros would score 4 goals in the last 7 minutes of the period off the sticks of Niklas Reeves (2), Matt MacQuaid, and Seth MacLeod. The Metros went into the dressing room up 4 - 1 after the second period. 4:27 into the third period, Shaul Mitton would add to the score for the Metros. 2 1/2 minutes later, the Rivermen's leading scorer, Avery Brown would cut the lead to 5-2. Keegan Mitchell would add the final goal at the 10:00 minute mark to make the final score 6 - 2.

The best of 7 finals will begin on Saturday, March 25th at 7:00 pm at the Kensington Credit Union Centre between Sherwood A & S Scrap Metal Metros and the Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers. Game 2 of the finals will be at the Cody Banks Arena on Sunday March 26th at 3:00 pm. The remainder of the games will be announced early this week.
